Even though this compact snow blower will not remove snow as quickly as your much more expensive gas snow blowers will nor will it remove more than 12 inches of deep snow as effectively as those more expensive gas snow blowers will, I find this snow blower more than adequate for removing snow that usually falls on my large Long Island,NY driveway. As a budget minded consumer I have found this snow blower to be the ideal choice for me. As other reviewers have noted this blower will handle wet snow if you spary some lubricant (WD-40) on the blades and inside the chute. Of course you must be careful not to go over the electrical cord but I did not find that difficult. Not having to be concerned about pouring in any gas or oil or having to have any tune-ups is a real plus in addition to the fact that this blower is light in weight and easy to move around. Assemby is so simple that it barely constitutes assembly at all. Some might find it fun to use this blower but actually I find no fun in going out in cold weather to remove snow but I am pleased with how it removes snow and eliminates aches and pains to the back and shoulders associated with shoveling. There are very few items that will give you more than what you paid for but this blower is one of them.

From other reviews, I really did NOT expect Joe to handle the stuff in the street. It had been there for several days, the plow only did the middle of the street and I wanted to clear two parking spaces to where the plow had come through, including the big ridge. Well–Joe cut through it ALL, even the frozen chunky stuff. Some areas required a second pass and the snow wasnt cleared to the road surface because it had become compacted, but Joe didnt clog up or falter at all. And aside from the part where I ran over the extension cord with the blower and it got wrapped around the blades and had to be cut off (idiot me!), it was quick, easy, effective and otherwise uneventful.

The only (very minor) issue that I had was that the directional device for the thrown snow did not remain secure and had to be re-adjusted several times. I think I need to tighten down those bolts a bit and it all should be good. Nice perk is the wand that enables you to change the direction of the thrower without stopping it.
